Club Ride Update
We're now six weeks on from re-starting Saturday club rides and the general feedback is that it's going well. Sign-up is a bit of a pain, but it works well to manage group sizes in advance.
On Saturdays we usually have 4 groups with the speeds ranging from 15 - 19mph. On Sundays we usually have 2 groups ranging between 14 and 16mph. We've even had groups with more women than men!
The organisation is being done by Dave A, Simon A, Kim S and Geoff M, so let them know you appreciate the hard work.
As we've limited our group sizes to six, the 'rule of six' makes no significant change in our approach to club rides. We'd ask everyone in the club to remain vigilant to make sure that groups larger than six do not form, else you'll be on the wrong side of the law.
We are making two changes at this stage:
Opening up club rides to non-members. Non-members will be allocated into gaps in groups, members will be given priority;
To reduce the number of no-shows, we will push the Saturday sign-up deadline back to Thursday 8pm instead of Wednesday. With late cancellations we've ended up with some very small groups on the day which isn't ideal.
Whilst the staggered starts generally work, with people a few minutes early or a few minutes late there is some risk of overlapping groups for a couple of minutes. If you do arrive early - whilst it will not feel natural at all - please respect the limit of 6 and keep at a distance. Cases are sadly on the rise.
We recognise this is going to get harder as the temperature drops and the weather turns, so expect some further changes as we adapt to the circumstances.
Steady Sunday Ride
Geoff is planning a slower Sunday Social ride (12-13mph) on Sunday 4th October. This is an excellent starting point if you're worried about the speeds or have found other rides too quick. Sign-up will be as per usual on the website which will go live the week prior.

Everyone signed up will recieve an email with details of the ride but sometimes these end up in spam folders so please double check if you've not received anything by the night before the ride.
Meeting at the Bulls Head
As per our previous request, if you are not taking part in club rides please help us by not using the Bull's Head as a meeting point Saturdays 0830-0915 and Sundays 0930-1000.
