Club Ride Update - 13/10/12

IMPORTANT CHANGES

With the recent changes to restrictions and the introduction of the traffic light system, we are making further changes to club rides.

As a club we are in a difficult position where (at the time of writing) members who live in Leicester and Oadby & Wigston fall under alert level 'high', whereas members that live in wider Leicestershire fall under the 'medium' alert category.

Under the 'high' alert level socialising indoors is forbidden - this will include cafe stops.

The option to create groups by both post-code and speed is considered to be impracticle. The option of suspending club rides is something we want to avoid if at all possible.

As consequence, we have decided that for the time being our club rides will not have cafe stops. We will shorten routes a little and try to include a co-op/garage type stop where we can get a quick hot drink and something to eat outside.

Whilst we know this is not ideal, in the circumstances, we see that this is the only we can continue to run club rides within the rules and play our part in limiting social contact.
